WCCS Incorporated, a community benevolent association was formed in 1987 to lobby for the needs of those with profound disabilities. Up until 1/7/03 it was known as the Lower Eyre Peninsula Accommodation for the Disabled Inc.
In 1989 the Board was approached by both State & Commonwealth Government to take on a pilot Community Option Program providing HACC (Home & Community Care) services. This project came to be known as the West Coast Community Service Program. In 1991 the WCCSP became fully operational and continues to this day to receive triennial funding. Following a marketing and Strategic Planning exercise during the 2002/3 financial year both the incorporated body and its service arm the WCCSP, had a name change to more clearly identify their core business and to make way for new directions. LEPAD Inc became West Coast Community Services Incorporated and WCCSP became West Coast HOMECARE.
The Board of Management is made up of professional, consumers, community representatives.

West Coast HOMECARE has achieved a national QIC (Quality Improvement Council) Accreditation using the Australian Health and Community Service Standards and is committed to maintaining and continuing Accreditation Standards.

West Coast HOMECARE is an extremely validated organisation at Level One of the Department for Families & Communities - Service Excellence Framework.  West Coast HOMECARE is recognised by the Department of Families & Communities for its efforts in building better governance for its organisation through improved customer focussed services and accountable systems and processes.
:: West Coast Community Services Inc. ::
West Coast HOMECARE (WCHC), then known as the West Coast Community Service Program was formed in 1989 to provide services across 7 local government rural and regional communities. West Coast HOMECARE now services the three local government areas of the City of Port Lincoln, District Council of Tumby Bay and the District Council of the Lower Eyre Peninsula.
The WCHC operates under a brokerage model utilizing a cross section of contractors to provide individualised home based services. These contractors can include the next door neighbour to a professional human service provider.

Local government has always worked in close partnership with WCHC providing part funding toward the provision of Home Maintenance.

In 2009/10 financial year the WCHC provided HACC Services to 278 clients and provide brokered services for other agencies to 83 clients.  In 2007 and again in 2010 we received Quality Improvement Council (QIC) as well as HACC National Service Standards and Service Excellence Accreditation through Quality Management Services (QMS).
