Accessing Aged Care Services
When looking for care at home, the first place to start is My Aged Care.
My Aged Care is an Australian Government agency which will assess your eligibility for aged care funding. If you are eligible for government funding, you can apply for a Home Care Package. Packages range from Level 1 to 4, and are allocated based on the level of care you need.
Once you have been allocated funding, you can choose the aged care provider of your choice to deliver the services you want at home.
At West Coast Homecare our friendly staff are available to assist you with navigating your way through My Aged Care.
Sometimes there can be a long wait for a Home Care Package. In the meantime, other options may be available. Talk to us about what options will work for you.

A CHSP is a subsidised government program that supports you when you need lower level support.
With your CHSP you can select from a range of services to support you to live independently in your home and community for longer. CHSP services are delivered on a short-term, episodic or ongoing basis depending on your situation. Activities provided will support your goals to remain living independently in your own home. You can start or stop your services at any time.

A Home Care Package provides you with a higher level of care based on your assessment by My Aged Care. You will be assessed into one of four levels of packages which will provide a different amount of funding (subsidy) that is paid to the provider of your choice by the Australian Government to deliver your care and services.
Your Home Care Package is delivered based on what services you need to support you to remain living in your home. You, or your family or carer can select from a range of services that can be delivered by the provider of your choice.
